Hello! This weekend skiers and snowboarders will go to the French ski resort Les Contamines (Parking télécabine de la Gorge). You can find the map of the resort here: https://www.lescontamines.net/ouverture.html Please arrive at the bus stop you chose and saved on your kananas profile. The buses leave from: du Collège Joran, Prévessin à 7h07 (parking possible) St Genis Pouilly Lycée/Piscine at 07h05 (no parking possible) CERN Tram stop at 7:15 h (no parking possible, buses will depart from the CERN visitor bus parking behind the globe, seen from the road) Genève, Procter & Gamble at 7:20 h France, Archamps at 7:30 h Please check out our web site http://cern.ch/club-ski for more details, in particular the map with the  the busstop, where the buses leave, on this page : https://www.kananas.com/skiclubcern/activites/ski-alpin/cours-de-ski-alpin/ You need to arrive early enough ( about 15 minutes before) to get all your gear on the bus, and get a seat: The buses leave sharp on time and anybody who is late will miss the bus! You must bring your own equipment to the courses (incl. goggles, gloves and hat or helmet), skis in a ski bag. There is no possibility to rent equipment at the resorts. Don’t forget your carte neige (or pass découverte), which is needed for taking the bus and your ID card/passport. We are looking forward to meeting you on the slopes!   ***   Salut ! Les Portes du Soleil 15/2

la version française au-dessous The inscription for our first after-course outing: « Les portes du Soleil » on Satuday, the 15th of February is now open. Join us and discover this fabulous ski area in the Chablais covering 12 ski stations and straddling the franco-swiss border with more than 650km of pistes. The outing price (95€) includes transport, a ski pass, and an instructor. For the round-trip tour, we will start in Ardent and visit the ski areas of Champéry, Crosets and Morgins in Switzerland before continuing via Super-Châtel in France from which there are panoramic views of Lake Geneva and Montreux from the Torgon ski area in Switzerland. We’ll finish by returning via Le Lingua to finish in Châtel and finally Lindarets in Avoriaz.   Ski Level Requirements: Minimum red slopes, a good pace to be with a group that does the round-trip tour. Minimum blue slopes to be with a group (but these groups will « just visit » Châtel and the Swiss side Crosets/Champéry). We will unlikely form snowboard groups, but snowboarders are welcome to join and form their own groups. Inscriptions remain open until Thursday, 13th of February (after the permanence) or once the outing is full.   *** Nous vous invitons à vous inscrire à notre première sortie après-cours, « Les portes du Soleil », qui aura lieu le samedi 15 fevrier. Dans le prix de la sortie (95€) est inclus transport, forfait et encadrement compris, venez découvrir le fabuleux domaine du Chablais regroupant 12 stations, traversant les Alpes française et suisse sur plus de 650 km de pistes!….. Pour le tour nous partirons d’Ardent et découvrirons les stations de Champéry, les Crosets et Morgins en Suisse puis nous skierons sur Super-Châtel en France pour voir le lac Léman au-dessus de Montreux par la station de Torgon en Suisse avant de prendre le chemin du retour par le Lingua, la découverte des pistes de Châtel et le retour vers les Lindarets d’Avoriaz. Niveaux de ski prérequis: Piste rouge minimum, rythme soutenu pour être encadré pour le tour (niveau 2.0 cette saison). Piste blue minimum pour être encadrée (mais que des « visites » de Châtel et Crosets/Champéry). Probablement pas d’encadrement pour snowboardeurs – mais ils sont les bienvenue pour former leur propres groupes.
